Magnolia Academy Children’s Center Programs
Magnolia Academy Children’s Center was planned to provide for the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth and development of children. Our programs will expose your child to a variety of stimulating experiences, including social interactions, supervised free play in the classroom and on the playground, individual and group activities, and skillful guidance by trained teachers during these learning experiences.

Infants and Toddlers
Our center has a separate room for infants and a separate room for toddlers, with a staff-to-child ratio of 1-4, with extra personnel on duty if needed.
A daily written record is kept of the child’s activities, including feedings, naps, diaper changes, etc. Parents provide diapers, formula, and baby food; we provide whole milk and table foods at the appropriate developmental stage. Any formula, bottled breast milk, or baby food must be clearly labeled with the child’s first and last name and date. Any baby food not consumed at one feeding may be used later in the same day if dated and stored in the refrigerator. Otherwise, it shall be discarded or returned to the parent at the end of the day. Baby bottles may not be reheated; therefore, you may want to send an extra bottle.
Caring for infants and toddlers is about building relationships and making the most of everyday experiences and routines. Although relationships are the core of our infant and toddler program, we recognize that a comprehensive curriculum is vital to this age group. We realize that the first three years of life are more critical to a child’s development than we ever imagined. During this period, children are discovering who they are and how others respond to them. They are also learning how to relate to others and how to express their feelings. Our nurturing staff understands these basic principles of infant and toddler development and is eager to help build a foundation and future for each child.
Our program provides a safe, stimulating, and fully accessible environment where children can explore and learn. Our loving caregivers work individually with the children to help them experience the initial stages of social interactions, language development, and learning through discovery. We are committed to providing the highest quality infant and toddler program. Our staff is trained in Infant CPR and Infant Stimulation, and we provide ongoing training at every opportunity.

Twos
Two-year-olds are anxious to learn. They need to learn to socialize with others and begin to take care of themselves independently. Just as importantly, they need to learn many new skills in thought processing and communicating. Two-year-olds often seem more grown-up than they really are. They are fast on their feet and good climbers. They are starting to become toilet trained. Their memory is improving. They understand many words and can say quite a few clearly. In many ways however, they are still babies and need our patient care. Our staff is trained to provide a quality program that meets the daily needs of two-year-olds.
Our program helps children develop both their minds and bodies in a safe and healthy place. Providing quality care focuses on helping children feel good about themselves, learn social skills, and develop thinking skills. Our curriculum is designed to meet all the needs of the growing child for love, guidance, and learning.
The key to working with two-year-olds is to remember that they are learning all the time. They will learn more if we give them safe ways to explore and encourage them to think and talk about what they are doing.

Preschoolers and Pre-K
Children are provided with stimulating and challenging activities that correspond to their own development level. Our programs provide a mixture of play and instruction. We embrace the STEAM approach. The components of a STEAM curriculum include the following: science, technology, engineering, art, and math. We will use all these areas in conjunction with a thematic path. Language and literacy will be intertwined in all that we do. These academic goals are enriched through the use of multiple learning centers. The classrooms are not only designed for academic success but also to nurture skills necessary for success in a kindergarten environment, such as positive self-esteem and socialization.

School-Agers
Our before and after-school age program is designed to complement the structured day of their elementary school. The school program is recreational in format with staff and student-led activities and supervision. Our students learn teamwork skills through active indoor/outdoor games and activities. In addition, homework time is provided and encouraged upon parents’ request.
