Letter from Owners

Brent Wittersheim, a Chesterfield County native, grew up surrounded by child centers due to his mother’s ownership and operation of several in the area. Brent pursued his education at the University of Richmond, earning a degree in Business Management and Marketing. His lifelong dream was to establish his own childcare facility. In 2022, alongside David Duffy, he achieved this dream by opening Magnolia Academy Children’s Center. Brent’s passion lies in enriching children’s lives and actively contributing to their growth and development as unique individuals.

Letter from Owners

Hi! I am Patricia Duffy, co-owner of Magnolia Academy Children’s Center. After a long career as a special education teacher and special education specialist with Chesterfield County Public Schools, my life took a very unexpected turn. My late husband, David Duffy, always dreamed of opening his childcare center. After many years of planning, David and Brent successfully opened Magnolia Academy Children’s Center on January 3, 2022. Sadly, David passed away in February of 2022. I chose to help continue David’s legacy of actively owning the best childcare center in the area!

My name is Vicky Lang, and I am one of the directors at Magnolia Academy Children’s Center. My educational background is in Early Childhood Education. I have had the privilege of working with children and their families for over forty years. I am fortunate to be able to continue my journey in childcare, working with such a dedicated group of teachers who put their heart and soul into providing a stimulating and loving environment for the children who walk through their doors. It is such a reward to see the joy they bring to the children throughout the day.
